Field Service Engineer
UK – Home Based
Purpose of Role:
To provide professional and profitable after-sale support to the Emerson Process Management Customer based for all products, including first line maintenance and repair services, site installation, commissioning and start-up.
Job Description:
To undertake or manage major modification programs, related to Emerson Process Management hardware and software
Utilise Emerson Process Management intelligent field decides to generate performance data and interpret this data into meaningful recommendations for the customer
Carry our installation/commissioning, fault analysis and repairs on Emerson Process Management products, including investigation of persistent or not easily resolvable problems being experienced at customer sites
To develop and implement product/system configuration changes at site to meet customer requirements
To provide on-site customer training in the application, service and operation of Emerson Process Management products
To assist custom staff in the resolution of Emerson Process Management product service and application problems
To assist Sales Engineers in the demonstration of Emerson Process Management products to potential customers and to provide guidance in product application and after sales service
Proactively identify Service/Product opportunities and assist the pursuit
Assist in the preparation of support literature for Sales opportunities
Be flexible to work throughout the British Isles, offshore or abroad and work additional hours and weekends to support customers
Be available to support the on-call rota
Qualifications/Skills:
You will ideally be HNC/level in an Engineering discipline, such as electronics, computer science or control engineering
Relevant experience as a Service or Instrument Engineer in a process control environment with a particular emphasis on installation, commissioning and start-up.
Experience in repair and servicing of Emerson Process Management and/or competitor products.<>/li>
An understanding of C&I theory including Control loop configuration and tuning
Have a sound knowledge of Emerson Process Management products form and application, service and operational view
Have clear and effective communication skills
Full driving license
