Control Systems Engineer
Aberdeen
Purpose of Role:
To provide technical leadership on a project team basis in the implementation, installation, modifications, testing and validation of control systems and associated instrumentation. Provide primary point of contact for client.
Job Description:
Reporting to the Project Manager (and Project Engineer) in order to agree the course of action necessary help to complete the assigned project in a timely and successful manner within the engineering budget
Responsible for the technical correctness of the software and associated instrumentation together with technical documentation
Production of design and test documentation
Responsible for interface to the client and project team on technical issues relating to the project
To assist customer staff in the resolution of Emerson Process Management product service and application problems
Proactively identify Service/Product opportunities and assist the pursuit
Assist the Service Support Contract Commitments
Be flexible to work world wide including offshore on a rotation basis and work additional hours and weekends to support the customer
Responsible for visiting client sites and installations onshore and offshore, assisting in design studies, H/W & S/W upgrades & modifications, acceptance tests, installation, commissioning, training, fault analysis and rectification
Assist the sales organisation in demonstrations, presentations, engineering estimates and solutions
Compliance to engineering standards and assistance with their further development
Qualifications/Skills:
Qualified to a minimum of HNC level in an Engineering discipline, such as electronics, instrumentation or control engineering
Relevant experience as a Systems Service or Instrument Engineer
Process Control System expertise, ideally DeltaV
An understanding of C&I theory including Control loop configuration and tuning
Have a sound knowledge of Emerson Process Management products from an application, service and operational view
Full Driving License
Have Offshore Experience
Have a valid offshore survival certificate
